Let's see: 55mph->60mph = only about 16% more kinetic energy to be shed in brake impulse. That would mean 16% longer stopping distance all things being equal. 55->60 is also a difference of 7.33 ft/sec, so that would mean somehow 16%x (unknown stopping distance) + 7.33x (reaction time in seconds) = 100.
